Taking your students to see a show that you haven’t seen yourself can be stressful.
Going Out=Growing Up makes preparation simple and enjoyable, so that each field trip is easy to organize and as enriching as possible for the students!

The show info sheet provides you with a quick overview, helps you understand the show’s theme, and gives you an idea of what the performers are trying to convey. In just a few minutes, you’ll have everything you need to prepare and to help your students get the most out of this experience.

The show info sheet also provides advice on how to prepare students before the field trip, to make the experience more accessible and enriching for both you and them.

Because an experience is even more memorable when it’s followed up at home: Going Out=Growing Up provides you with a ready-to-send info sheet for parents.
Preparing the students before the field trip sparks curiosity, builds anticipation, and keeps them focused during the show. After the field trip, reviewing the experience helps reinforce learning, stimulate reflection, and ensure that the outing remains a meaningful and enriching event for each child.
As it happens, Going Out=Growing Up offers several ready-to-use activities that require no preparation for use in the classroom.
The performers took the time to prepare a short video to introduce themselves, present their characters, and even share a little secret with you! This activity helps create a connection between the child and the show they are about to see.
Through an interactive quiz and simple illustrations, students will discover what they are allowed to do during the show: laugh, be bored, and even dislike certain moments. This activity demonstrates that each child can experience the show in their own way.
This activity invites students to reflect on the show through a series of thought-provoking questions. It encourages discussion about the emotions, characters, and themes, while allowing the students to share their impressions and deepen their experience.
L’Atelier ++ is an introduction to accompanying cultural field trips designed especially for elementary school teachers. In this interactive workshop, you’re invited to explore, in a group, the value of these school activities: Why go on field trips? What do students get out of the experience? How can we prepare ourselves and our class, in a way that’s simple, for a show?
Through simple exercises and ready-to-use tools—including the Going Out=Growing Up platform—you’ll leave with all the resources you need to confidently accompany your students on their next field trip!
Duration between 1 hour and 1 hour 30 minutes, depending on the time available.
A minimum of six participants is required.
L’Atelier ++ was developed in partnership with the Maison des Arts de Laval.

The workshop completely changed my way of thinking about the importance of preparing students before field trips and following up afterwards.
I’m much better prepared and I do a better job of preparing the students, because I’m more aware of the positive impact this will have on their cultural experience.
I have a better understanding of the importance of cultural field trips for children.
